The established International Renewable Energy Storage Conference presents the latest research results and development experience for renewable energy storage. Presenters analyze and discuss the applicability and need for storage in the power, heating and transport and mobility sectors. The latest technological improvements as well as the framework conditions for the use and integration of energy storage systems are explored, while particular attention is given to the applicability in decentralized energy supply systems.

From 14 till 16 March 2017 the 11th International Renewable Energy Storage Conference (IRES 2017) will take place together with the Energy Storage Europe (conference + expo) in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Conference Program

Tuesday, 14 March

The celebratory opening gives insights on the two conference foci "business and finance" and "research and policy". A panel with storage experts and politicians discusses the necessity for storage technologies worldwide.

Wednesday, 15 March

The IRES-sessions present the latest technological developments, research projects and key findings for the storage of renewable energy. The ESE-sessions feature business cases and financial aspects for the energy storage industry.

Thursday, 16 March 2017

More parallel sessions allow the audience to dive deeper into the conference topics. In the afternoon, a celebratory closing summarizes the core content of the sessions. This way, all participants are equally informed.

The full conference program - including all sessions with an overview of presentations - will be made available online in the beginning of December.

For the time of the conference, the Tourist Agency in Düsseldorf has put together a contingent of hotel rooms and private accommodation offers. Further information as well as a direct link to the booking form can be found on their website.

Steering Committee

The International Renewable Energy Storage Conference (IRES) is organized and directed by a Scientific Steering Committee. Being active researchers, professors and experts of storage technologies for renewable energy storage, the Scientific Steering Committee guarantees the scientific quality of the conference program and its set-up.

All members of the Steering Committee with their short CVs can be found on the main conference website
